Introducing... Flash!

Presenting...

Flash the Turtle!

Yes, you can finally learn all about our class pet turtle, Flash! Flash is, as you know, our class pet turtle. He can't be held, but he swims around in his tank with the fish that live with him. He has has a giant appetite (whenever someone rests their fingers on the glass, he tries to bite at it), so I'm sure he'd bite.

No offence Flash!

He's very fun to watch though, ESPECIALLY when he's feeding on live sources. What would that be? Namely, crayfish. If someone catches some, or if Mr. Cowen happens to buy them, we put them in his tank. Usually they go straight to hiding. (if I'm right, there is STILL a crayfish stuck behind the filter!!!)
But when he get's ahold of one, boy is it gory.

NEWSFLASH! : Turtle murders crayfish!

Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to this week's edition of NEWSFLASH. This week, we suspect that Flash, a class pet turtle, murders a crayfish. We saw the whole thing. First, he got ahold of the poor crayfish, and ripped off it's pinchers! Then he dropped them and went after the crayfish, and you don't want to know what happened after THAT. The fish, who were swimming along innocently at the scene of the crime, started nibbling at the pinchers! We're here with a live interview with Flash.

Newsreporter: Flash, did you purposely intend to murder this Ms. Crayfish?
Flash: ...
Newsreporter: What do you have to say for yourself?
Flash: ...
Newsreporter: ...
Flash: ...
Newsreporter: ...Okay then. That wraps up this weeks NEWSFLASH! See you next week, same time, same place! Take him away, boys.
-Flash is handcuffed and thrown in turtle prison-

Just a joke, by the way! We all know Flash needs his food to! (:

Paper Pets... Breeding?!?!

October 24th, 2008 (:D)

NEWSFLASH! : Paper pet breeding made possible!

Ladies and gentlemen, girls and germs, presenting...

Paper Pet Breeding!

(YES, It's creepy, I know)

In science class, we've been making paper pets. These 'pets' look similar to blobs of jello. You choose their alleles and other stuff, then you pick a partner and 'breed' them. The offspring depend on both parents, a coin, and a Punnett Square. More news to be said later.

EDIT: Sorry it's a day late!

Snake-in-the-box!

OCT. 23rd, 2008. Setting; Mr. Cowen's classroom. (happy close-to Halloween!)

NEWSFLASH! : Snake-in-the-boxes are the new fad!

Haha, no, not really. Today in Mr. Cowen's English class, we were presented with 4 sheets. These sheets were all about using your senses -- i.e: touch, smell, taste, hear, see -- to write.

So why not get into the spirit of things?

We got a box, and put a hole in the top. Someone from the class would go out in the hall, and we'd select an item to put in the box. They could then come in, and -- without looking -- would have to use their other senses to try and guess what's in the box. When it was Nate's turn, we decided to have a little fun. After he left the room, we put Skinner (our class pet snake), into the box! Everyone laughed so hard, even Nate. Don't worry, it was all in good fun! =)

And THAT'S what I call a Snake-in-the-box!
